So...  it's been a while.  What can I say, I keep busy!

I don't remember the polishes on these...  I know the dot flowers in the middle are from the 007 OPI collection...

He Loves Me... Not

I had to try the new Shellac black, but then it was too dark for me...  so I added color!

I used Shellac Base, Overtly Onyx, Hotski to Tchotchke, Purple Purple, Red Baroness, Top Coat.

Foiled Shellac

I volunteered to be a coworker's hair model for the salon hair book, so she colored me, trimmed it and gave me a cool new style - while I was waiting for the color to process, I did my nails "edgy" to match her theme for the photo shoot.

This is Shellac Red Baroness, with black then silver transfer foil, and Shellac Millionaire.  I love it!  What do you think?

Bright colorful nail art!

A girl I work with asked for tie-dye and that's what I came up with; I wanted to try some bright lightening style nails, and I wanted to make a puzzle - unfortunately, the red in the center blends with the orange on the right in all my photos.

More Girly Art!

Had some free time, so I tried some more girly nails for the bride tomorrow - more conservative.  I started with a French, because in my experience even the wildest brides tend to get French or natural for the wedding.

The bright one is supposed to be a butterfly wing; I saw it on Pinterest but it didn't turn out quite as nice as I remember.

Care For Some Vino?

Wine themed nails!  These were all in a magazine I was flipping through, so I thought I'd give them a try.

There actually is a glass around the wine in the second nail, but it's in white, and I couldn't get a visible shot of it on the nude background!

Client Toe Nail Art

I had a lovely pedicure client this afternoon ask for art on her toenails.  I asked what she wanted, and she replied "I don't care, but it'd be cool of you could keep it in the fall theme, so black and white" [on her orange base color].  Spider web, I asked her?  "Sure!"

That is OPI Deutsch You Want Me Baby, CND Base and Top Coat, and acrylic paint.

Luckily the spa is decorated with spiders (and witches, ghosts, etc) this month, so I had a reference, or I probably would have drawn the legs out the rear segment instead of the front.  O.o

The Princess Pat Pedicure

New pedicure, using a bunch of rich colors that I love:

All the colors remind me of the "Rigabamboo" camp song I learned as a child.  Red and gold and purple too!

Rainbow Zebra from Algae Veronica

I met my new favorite person, Algae Veronica, the other day when she got a pedicure from me at my spa.  Thrilled to meet another nail artist, we swapped URLs, and when I got home I immediately went to her blog...  and read all the way back to the first post.  She has some great video tutorials, and I adored the rainbow zebra one.  I had some spare time tonight, and decided to try it on myself!

I used Orly Rubberized Base Coat, 3-in-1 Top Coat (2 coats this time), LA Colors 565 (purple), Claire's Flames, OPI Black Onyx, Dating A Royal, Don't Mess With OPI, The "It" Color, OPI Red.

One must ask children and birds how cherries and strawberries taste.

Just a simple strawberry pedi this time...

I used Orly Rubberized Base Coat and 3-in-1 Top Coat, OPI An Affair In Red Square, Jade Is The New Black, Eiffel For This Color.

Love is a game that two can play and both win.

Valentine inspired mani!  My lover actually suggested I do my absolute favorite mani (the only one he's ever seen repeated!) with colors.  Of course he's out of the country, and it will be ruined before he gets back.

Ring in the Red and OPI Ink

Another sister manicure!  She complains that this one started chipping the following day, even though last time I used Ring In The Red on her it lasted almost a week.  All the same products, so maybe a technique difference?  Or it's all in her head.  ;)

I used China Glaze Ring in the Red and OPI OPI Ink.  Orly Rubberized Base Coat and 3-in-1 Top Coat.

Rainbow French

My other sister stopped by and talked me into a manicure - she loved my very favorite French, and decided she wanted a French with five colors.  (I don't ask questions with her, just go with it.)

I used Orly Rubberized Base Coat and 3-in-1 Top Coat, OPI Yodel Me On My Cell, Animal-istic, OPI Ink, Finger Paints Meet Me At The Met, China Glaze Icicle.

I'm inclined to think that a military background wouldn't hurt anyone.

My cousin was visiting last week, and when he saw my nail art, he suggested I do military nails.  (He's in the Airforce.)  I spent a lot more time than I anticipated on these, and saved the easy stuff for my right hand.

From index:  Coast Guard, Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy.  I had to simplify the designs a bit, especially the Navy.

On my right hand I tried several variations of camo - I think I like the middle finger version best.  It was done by painting the base tan, then making a "c" all over with each color, lightest to darkest.


I used Orly Rubberized Base Coat and 3-in-1 Top Coat, Dazzle, Pointe Blanche, OPI Black Onyx, Get In The Expresso Lane, Don't Mess With OPI, Dating A Royal, The "It" Color, Finger Paints Scenery Greenery, Sally Hansen Cherry Red, Pure Ice Jaguar, and an unnamed gold glittery polish from Urban Outfitters.

Ring In The Red and Divine Swine

No nail art...  Just polish on my sister, again.  But some new colors to see!  Two coats of Ring In The Red all over, except the accent nail, which has just one, and the second coat of Divine Swine.

At Christmas play and make good cheer, for Christmas comes but once a year.

My sister informed me tonight that I need to get someone else to take the pictures....  As if I didn't know! The ones my five year old daughter took are better than mine.  :-/  Next to my baby toe we have holly or mistletoe, then a gift/bow, a white tree, a snowman, and candy canes.  The rest were mixing and testing new colors.


I used Lippman Collection Hydrating Base Coat and On A Clear Day Topcoat, Fingerpaints Scenery Greenery, Sally Hansen Cherry Red, OPI Black Onyx, China Glaze Velvet Bow and Ring in The Red, Orly French Tip, Venique Twinkling Glitter.

If someone offers you a breath mint, accept it.

I finally broke down and painted my hands again.  I'm still working at the spa, and I think I've decided to go to school this winter instead of trying to get a professional job.

I used Lippmann Collection Hydrating Base Coat and On A Clear Day Top Coat, Orly French Tip, China Glaze Ring In The Red.
